Hello everyone and welcome to my brand new blog.
This is the place where I as a newborn designer will ventilate my thoughts about living and developing into this work role. I say newborn since I just graduated from my masters program at HDK here in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is where it all begins. From here on it is a quest for work that is developing, challenging and fun. As an industrial designer from a multidisciplinary background with the focus on sustainability my goal will always be to find work that not only develops me as a designer, but foremost the people using the products and the world they exist in.
These are goals that I share with many of my classmates and friends that I met through the years of education, workshops, fairs and other get togethers. Design is and should be about change whether it is shape, function, material or something else if it makes the product better. On the other hand change for the sake of change is not a good thing.
This drive to find developing, challenging and fun work makes young designers really tough people. There is not a lot of work to begin with but we really strive to find the kind of work we are aiming for. In short: Many of us would consider living on a low income for a while rather than working a job that we don’t believe in.
As young designers we are hard working dreamers with our goals set high. This blog is a sneakpeak into how me and my friends find our roles in this fantastic line of work.
Welcome once again. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I will.
